Last morning on Chappaquiddick, sunny with a brisk northeast wind blowing, which would mean calm water all the way along the shore to Chappy Point, and plenty of bumps outside. Slow against the wind and incoming tide, 5.4 average to Edgartown Light, then some stability practice taking seas on the beam in the outer harbor on a loop around the massive modern schooner METEOR anchored in the roadstead. Couldn’t detect any real current on the return, as speed hovered around 6.0 when I was expecting 6.5…. still, a very nice early outing on Katama Bay and Edgartown Harbor. 9.03 miles, 1:36, average speed 5.6, max 7.7.
