Please join us on Sunday, July 13 from 5-7 at the Opening Reception for “Keep the Lighthouse in Sight” at Gay Head Gallery. The show runs from July 13 – 27 and will benefit the “Save the Gay Head Lighthouse Committee.”

Artwork inspired by the Gay Head Light as well as the ongoing effort to relocate this Vineyard icon before it literally falls off the beautiful Gay Head Cliffs is the focus of the show.

Along with the artwork, several members of the committee will talk about the history of the Lighthouse, and the effort to save it. Oral histories by Lindsay Lee from the Vineyard Museum will be on view along with original paintings, photographs, works on paper and jewelry by a number of gallery and Island artists.

This Art Event hopes to inspire people to support saving the Lighthouse through the purchase of art, and with direct donations to the “Save the Gay Head Lighthouse”. Donations will be accepted throughout the season.
